Text Box: St. Anne’s has not always been known by its current name. In the late 1800s it was known as the Church of Faith, in the 1930s it was known as Trinity Church Mission.  In the 1940s it became known as St. Anne’s Episcopal Mission, and now is known as St. Anne’s Episcopal Church.
The first priest to conduct services was the Rev. Lee on November 7, 1880.  Services were held at various locations in McPherson such as the Methodist Church, the Baptist Church, the Congregational Church, a furniture/funeral parlor, the Legion Room, Puritan Café and the YMCA.
In the 1940s the church began to grow and services changed from once a month to every Sunday.
In 1942, a small wooden schoolhouse was purchased from Saline County for $250.  In 1943 an individual had the tiny structure moved from Saline County to its new home in McPherson. Just one week after purchasing the building, the congregation raised $1,200, in addition to a gift from the diocese, to help  with the cost of the church building.
On April 9 and 10, 1945, St. Anne’s Mission was dedicated at the corner of Elizabeth and Walnut Streets.
In 1977, the church searched for ways to accommodate anticipated growth.  The first option was to purchase the old Presbyterian Church Education Building, located on South Main Street.  The building was subsequently purchased for $35,000. The building was to be used for worship, Christian education, and the Church office.  The former Presbyterian Church was razed due to the cost of maintenance and upkeep.  St. Anne’s sold their former home to the Seventh Day Adventists– where it remains on South Chestnut.
St. Anne's installed nine stained glass windows on December 6, 1992 and a pipe organ in the late 1990s.
